INVISALIGN® OVERVIEW
Now there’s a process for straightening teeth that is less visible and more convenient than traditional braces.
A NEW WAY TO ADDRESS MISALIGNMENT
Whenever someone suffers from misalignment of their teeth, including an underbite, overbite or crossbite, it is usually advisable to undergo some form of corrective treatment.
Traditionally, that has involved braces, brackets and wires that can be uncomfortable and very noticeable, but now there is an alternative.
THE INVISALIGN® DIFFERENCE
With Invisalign®, you wear almost invisible aligners that can be removed for eating and brushing.
The aligners are custom-made for your teeth following 3D computer imaging.
Over several months you move through a series of aligners, each one slightly different to gently move your teeth into the new position.
INVISALIGN® BENEFITS
During the treatment pathway, Invisalign’s almost-clear aligners are less noticeable that traditional metal braces.
They are also generally found to be less painful, because there are no metal brackets and wires rubbing against your mouth.
So even before the treatment has realigned your teeth, you will feel the benefit of this ground-breaking approach.
The fundamental benefit of Invisalign® is that it achieves straighter teeth.
It can treat most of the common misalignment issues, including crowded teeth, overbites, underbites and gaps.
This not only gives you a more confident smile, but it can also reduce the abnormal levels of stress on teeth and jaws that are common with crooked teeth.
Because they are removable, Invisalign® aligners make it easier to clean your teeth than fixed braces.
After a little practise, you will find it easy and quick to remove your aligners for cleaning.
Cleaning your teeth after every meal is a small inconvenience for the excellent results that Invisalign® can achieve.
Straighter teeth tend to be less prone to tooth decay and gum disease than crooked teeth, as they are easier to clean.
The Invisalign® treatment pathway can therefore contribute to your overall dental health.
This can mean you may require less dental treatment in the future than if you leave crooked teeth untreated.
MOST COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT INVISALIGN®
FAQs
What is the pathway to achieving straighter teeth?
The process starts with 3D computer imaging, carried out right here at Bridge House Dental Practice.
This imaging technology lets us plan precisely the gradual movement that your teeth will take in increments.
We map a pathway from your teeth’s current position to the place you want them to be at the end of the treatment.
How can one address or manage regular changes in alignment of teeth?
Every patient’s situation is unique to them, but most people swap their aligners for a new set every week or two.
Each set is made slightly differently in order to gently move the teeth to the new position.
You fit your new aligners at home, with appointments every few weeks so that we can monitor progress throughout the realignment journey.
How effective are custom-made aligners in achieving teeth alignment?
The 3D imaging software is also used to design and build your individual aligners, which is done at a specialist Invisalign® laboratory.
When you come in for your aligner fitting, we will show you how to put them in and take them out.
Because they are custom-made, most patients find that they are quickly able to fit and remove them.
What discreet approaches are available for teeth realignment?
Wearing traditional braces, brackets and wires can be just as embarrassing as living with misaligned teeth.
But Invisalign offers a more satisfactory alternative.
With Invisalign, you wear discreet custom-made aligners that people might not notice you’re wearing.
What’s more, they can be easily removed for eating and brushing.
How can one go about correcting misalignment issues with their teeth?
People can suffer from one or more of several misalignment issues.
Gapped or crowded teeth, an underbite, overbite or crossbite; all can create pain and gum disease, as well as aesthetic concerns.
Methods have of course been in place for many years that address misalignment, but these bring their own problems.
How can teeth be gently moved into position to address misalignment issues?
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth.
As you replace each aligner approximately every two weeks, your teeth will move, little by little, week by week.
Gradually they move towards the projected final position.
What characteristics contribute to teeth alignment solutions being both comfortable and easy to maintain?
Invisalign aligners can be taken off to eat, and they are repositioned after brushing your teeth.
You can even remove them altogether for short periods, such as special occasions like a wedding or important meeting.
Because there are no metal or sharp edges, they are also generally more comfortable to wear than traditional braces.
How much does Invisalign® cost at your dental practice?
Our competitive prices start from £3,900.
