The veneer process involves porcelain being slotted over the surface of the teeth, covering any imperfections.
It’s a two-appointment process. First, a small layer is removed from the front of the teeth.
Moulds are then made for each tooth and sent to the laboratory so that your individual veneers can be made.
WHO NEEDS VENEERS?
Veneers could be the solution for discolouration of your teeth, in cases where our assessment is that teeth whitening is unlikely to achieve the results you want.
Veneers can also be used to hide gaps, address issues with crooked teeth, and correct misshapen teeth that affect an otherwise pleasant appearance.
PAINLESS FITTING
On your return appointment, we will carefully check the veneers for fit and colour.
A thorough cleaning of your teeth follows, along with a gentle roughening of the surface to improve adhesion of the cement and veneers.
The veneers are carefully put into position and ultraviolet light hardens the cement to firmly secure them in place.
LASTING RESULTS
Painless to wear, modern porcelain veneers are both very strong and long lasting.
Typically, you can expect 10-15 years of life from porcelain veneers, and sometimes even longer.
There is no special maintenance regime required: just the normal recommended routine of brushing your teeth twice a day and regular flossing.
